Masterfrost

Today customers expect more. The market place expects more.

You expect more. Ellis Refrigerations work closely with Masterfrost to deliver more: Quality, Service, Efficiency, Low Cost, Energy saving, Immediate Results.

Masterfrosts factory exists since 1965 and has to show a plenitude of new concepts, ideas and innovation in the icemaker field.

Master Frost is one of the oldest manufacturing companies of icemakers and supply leader companies and wholesalers in the bar equipment market, hotel – restaurant market, catering equipment market, hotel, tourism market etc.

Ellis Refrigerations and Master Frost is committed to its mission to develop breakthrough products and solutions that add visual dimensions to business.

Supporting this, Masterfrosts icemakers work in a unique way, which allows increasing 43% the efficiency of icemaker and at the end of the day to save up to 35% of energy. Masterfrost icemakers – ‘B’ Models - are for hard water areas and are designed in a sophisticated way and with less moveable parts from the common pallet systems currnetly on the market.

These new icemakers have changed the route in the icemakers market.

So simple and easy to maintain and function that even the last user can.

In each B model the use has the ability to fluctuate the size of ice, while this cannot happen with the competition. The ice bin designs have the drainage in the back and the user can take ice without obstacles. The ice flakers territory we import new concept-innovation in the freezing cylinder – evaporator.

The advantages are less energy for the freezing cylinder and immediate results in high temperature environments.

Ellis Refrigeration and Masterfrost are very confident in the technology, heritage in building and supplying icemakers, the services provided and the competitive pricing in high quality icemakers.

Clean within 15 seconds....No Tools Required
MasterFrost icemakers are very easy to install and to maintain, or clean without the need of technical knowledge and no tool sets required.

The Working Cycle....Spray Models
MaterFrost icemakers have a unique way of working that differentiates them from the competition.  Ellis Refrigeration realise this and work closely with MasterFrost.  The MasterFrost icemakers can work daily in tough conditions of +42 degrees Celcius ambient temperatures.

Once the icemaker has been installed by Eliis Refrigeration and connected to a water supply, drain and power outlet, the machine will start to fill it integral water tank.

Beginning of the Cycle:
The machine takes water from the water mains and fills the 'Heat Exchanger', as well as the Water Tank.  At this moment only the Soleniod Value is working.  After 2 1/2 minutes the Soleniod will stop and the icemaker will start to function with the help of the Compressor and Pump.

Middle of the Cycle:
While the icemaker is working the cold plate tempearture will decrease until 16 degree celcius is reached.  Once the cold plate thermostat temperature meets that of the cold plates temperature, the timer will function in order to control the machine defrost.

End of the Cycle:
The machine totally stops, the compressor and pump stop functioning.  The Soleniod starts to dunction and fresh water enters the 'Heat Exchanger' tube and push hot water onto the cold plate, casuing the machine to defrost, utilising the defrosted water for the next cycle.

The Heat Exchanger and Defrost Method:
The Heat Exchangeer is a patent of MasterFrost SA and has the following advantages compared to other competitor brands that use the HOT GAS (By-Pass) method for defrosting:

  • Increased efficiency in the range of 40 - 43%
  • The ability to work in the hottest climates
  • Energy Saving of more than 144 minutes daily, once the compressor stops in each cycle and does not have to compress liquid.
  • Increase of Compressor lifespan
  • Increase of Compressor performance rate

The Heat Exchanger is a copper 'barrel' that is connected with the water supply and can hold a certain amount of water, dependant on the model of icemaker.  Through the Heat Exchanger passes the Discarge line of the compressor, that carries vapour gas in high temperatures.  Using this process the MasterFrost icemaker are able to heat the water by abstract temperature (exchange) from the compressor.

This means that the compressor can performn in the hottest environment with less inner temperature.

At the end of the cycle the compressor and pump total stop, while the soleniod valve functions and fresh water enters the Heat Exchanger. so that hot water pours on to the cold plate and performs the defrost phase.

The Working Cycle....Spray Models:
As the hot water is poured onto the cold plate (-16 degrees C) this changes the temperature of the cold plate and it becomes cold again (less the 7 degrees C) and is kept inside the water tank ready to be used for the next cycle.

Compared with the Hot Gas defrost method, the compressor has to compress liquid in the defrost phase.  Liquids can not compressed and thus compressors need more power consumption and after three to four years the decrease in effiiency can range up to 50% and less ice production.  With regards to the valvues of the compressor, these can crack or loose their strain point.

The B Model (Wave System)
MasterFrost throughout the years have show a plentitude of inovations.  Today, another fresh idea of a 'different' pallet system is ready for the ice makers market and becoming more specific a unique icemaker for really hard water areas.

The innovation here is a pallet system with reduced movebale parts, motors and wires.  This pallet system has the capability to adjust - fluctuate the size of ice in thickness and height through easy adjustment  of a Thermostat.

This is a top view with the lid off.  From left to right is the gear motor, the additional gear motor and the adjust wheel switches, Bin thermostart, ice maker thermostat.

MasterFrost icemakers for hard water areas is the only one with the capcity to flucuate the size of ice through the thermostat.  Simply turn clockwise to increase the size and anti clockwise to decrease the size of ice.

Here you can see the control panel.
The adjustment wheel and common switches for activvating the Defrost Cycle when the water tanker is in the vertical position.

The electronic panel on the right is just a timer and the float sensor controller, while Harvest time and Defrost can easily be adjusted.

Another feature of the new MasterFrost B models is the bin.  From a closer look the water tanker drain has been installed in the back of the bin instead of on the side of the bin.  The result is more space and no obstacles when taking ice with the scoop shovel.

As you can see from the picture (left) the new sophisticated systems with less moveable part and less wiring lead to a trouble free icemaker.

A second gear motor has been designed for optimum strength, less space and no extra parts.

As for the gear motor in charge to turn the water tanker; can realaise an obstacle and change rotation.  This means the motor never has break downs or the other parts that implicate with the water tanker motion.

The F Model (Ice Flaker)
In the ice flaker units from MasterFrost their Reasearch and Development department has designed a freezing cylinder for a rapid ice formation.  This way the ice flakers are capable of working in the hottest environments with minimul loss in normal production

In the drawing of the freezing cylinder it shows no copper pipes around the cylinder, just a stainless steel 'shirt' and a path for the refrigerant fluid.  The refrigerant fluid immediately freezes the cylinder.

Every component has been double checked for clearance and correct measures for the optimum in quality and production efficiency.

As with all of MasterFrost product, MasterFrost SA use the latest in CAD/CSM systems for the best in design effectiveness and keeping the cost low.

The Gear Motor MasterFrsot SA use is a special realisation for professional use.  If you compare MasterFrosts Gear Motor with other competitors, you will find that MasterFrost have a stronger gear motor in the market assuring the users for a long lastings trouble free use.
MasterFrost ice flakers are the corrct choice for professionals in Bakeries, Fish Industries, Fish Market Shops, Restaurants, Bars, Super Markets and many more.....
